Improving the aquarium hobby by sharing knowledge and promoting conservation since 1967.
The Durham Region Aquarium Society (DRAS) was established in September of 1966 to assist in the advancement and improvement of the aquarium hobbyist. We held our first annual show and created a monthly bulletin in 1967. Today we continue that tradition with monthly events, an annual mega-auction and dinner, as well as our Tank Talk digital publication. DRAS also works with local, national, and international aquatic organizations toward the shared goal of conservation.
Stompin’ Through The Creek!
We’ll be stomping through local waterways and seeing what we can find!
In years past we’ve seen sticklebacks, darters (at least three species), a few species of crayfish, stone rollers, sunfish, trout fingerlings, frogs, tadpoles, lots of insects and even some interesting aquatic plants... After we finish, we’ll stop for some drinks and snacks. Pool available if you want to cool off.
NOTE: This event is only open to paid-up DRAS members, or paid-up members of any other CAOAC aquarium club or society.
Date & Time:
