Improving the aquarium hobby by sharing knowledge and promoting conservation since 1967.
The Durham Region Aquarium Society (DRAS) was established in September of 1966 to assist in the advancement and improvement of the aquarium hobbyist. We held our first annual show and created a monthly bulletin in 1967. Today we continue that tradition with monthly events, an annual mega-auction and dinner, as well as our Tank Talk digital publication. DRAS also works with local, national, and international aquatic organizations toward the shared goal of conservation.
Our September speaker is long-time DRAS member Udo Rohmann, an expert on various styles and methods of filtration. Filtration is one of the most important aspects of aquarium keeping, but one that is most often overlooked. Come on out and learn about some of the filtration options that you can use in maintaining a healthy and beautiful tank.
This presentation will be followed by a fish-in-a-box game and the usual monthly mini-auction - hopefully with many pond fish and plants for the auction!
