History of DRAS

The Durham Region Aquarium Society (DRAS) was established in September of 1966. During 1967, we held our first annual show and created a monthly bulletin. Our Society's aim is "the advancement and improvement of the aquarium hobbyist". We are also a chartered member of the Canadian Association of Aquarium Clubs (CAOAC).

We encourage all aquarists to come and enjoy one of our meetings as a guest. All ages welcome! Our club is full of friendly and very knowledgeable members who are happy to answer any questions you may have about the hobby.

Our meetings offer an opportunity to talk to fellow hobbyists, share experiences, tips and tricks or get advice to solve a problem. We have guest speakers, slide presentations and demonstrations. Each meeting also features a mini auction where you can buy or sell hobby related items.

Whether you have one tank or a large fish room, DRAS has something to offer everyone!
