Next DRAS Meeting

I have never been to a meeting before. What can I expect at the next DRAS meeting?

Hi Andrew,

Glad you are coming out. I was in your shoes just over a year ago, and I remember very well what it was like. You are lucky though... this is a very welcoming and friendly bunch...

The meeting itself usually starts around 8:00 PM, but I highly recommend getting there a little early so you can chat with others. The meeting starts with the procedural issues, reports from standing committees and that sort of stuff. Seemingly very dry at first, but once you get involved, it will provide a lot of information about upcoming events, etc. Next will be time devoted to the program. I believe that this meeting we will be reviewing books on various issues of the hobby. Following this is usually a short break and then the auction of whatever items club members have decided to sell.

You will see some members wearing black golf shirts with their names on them. Introduce yourself and chances are you can start up a good convesation. My name is Derek. I don't (yet) have the honour of a golf shirt, but if you ask anyone, they should be able to point me out. Look me up and I'll answer any questions you may have, and introduce you around...

Yea it's a pretty fun time. I went to my first meeting in January this year and have been hooked ever since. Lots of good info from the members.
