any plants that are easy to care for, relatively low light, and fill out nicely?
i know the
java moss,
java fern
crypts
and even some frogbit and water sprite
anyone mention any others?
Here is a link sorted by lighting and species names from another site I run..

All the species names link to the Tropica profile cards for added info and pictures.. Hope it helps some..

Check out some of this years' editions of Tank Talk. You will find some good suggestions.
Also, try the Anubias species. Excellent beginner plant.
Crypts can be very frustrating for a new keeper. Make sure you do you research as there are many species that are suitable for beginning (c. wendtii, c. parva) but there are also some others that are not (c. cordata and c. balansae probably being the most often seen, but still rarer).
Good luck.
